Auto Body Technician Gets Jail Time For Theft From Employer
An Upper Bucks County man who worked for a Hatfield auto body repair shop is going to jail for stealing more than $10,000 from his employer.
46-year-old John Weiss of Milford pleaded guilty to theft and other offenses stemming from incidents that occurred last year, when he worked as a technician who traveled to dealers and did minor body repair work on cars they had for sale. He admitted cashing checks from dealers that contracted with K and J USA and replacing them with counterfeit checks, and also turning in bills in the names of nonexistent dealerships. In addition to serving 1 1/2 to 4 years in state prison, he must pay restitution to the company.
