Ex NP Vice Principal Heading For Trial
A former North Penn school administrator accused of giving two 13-year-old boys money and gifts to talk about their sexual activity is heading for trial.
37-year-old Charles Hurst of Somerset Court in Montgomery Township waived his formal arraignment Thursday in Montgomery County Court and pleaded not guilty to endangering the welfare of children and corrupting minors. He was Vice Principal at Pennbrook Middle School in Upper Gwynedd at the time of the alleged incidents last year. In one case, Hurst is accused of encouraging the victim to commit a lewd act. He had developed a personal relationship with the boy’s family. A caseworker at an agency that works with adults and children who have behavioral health problems and other issues told police about the second victim after reading about the first case. There is no evidence of improper physical contact with the victims in either case.
