Confessed Cat Killer Gets Jail Time

prison_1A Montgomery County woman who admitted allowing her cats to starve to death has been given a short jail term. 50-year-old Patricia Wiehler pleaded guilty to 14 counts of cruelty to animals earlier this year.  She must serve 48 hours in county prison and complete 150 hours of community service.  The decomposing bodies of as many as 37 cats and kittens were found in early June at her former townhouse on Whitpain Hills Drive in Whitpain Township.  They had been confined for about a month with no food or water, and some cats were forced to feed on the others.  Police found them after responding to a neighbor’s call about a bad odor.
