2 Get Jail Time For Stealing From Employer
Two men who admitted stealing more than $650,000 from Foundations Behavioral Health in New Britain have been given jail time. 54-year-old Eugene Child of Plumstead and 36-year-old Herbert Johnson of Brookhaven pleaded guilty to felony theft and conspiracy charges earlier this year. A Bucks County judge gave Child one to two years in county prison and gave Johnson two to four years in state prison. Child headed the maintenance department and Johnson headed the housekeeping department. Court documents say they conspired to submit phony invoices for janitorial supplies that were nonexistent, never ordered or had greatly inflated price tags and put the money in their own bank accounts. They both used it to pay bills, and Child also used it to buy cars and take vacations at Disney World and Las Vegas and buy Eagles season tickets, while Johnson used it to pay private school tuition and dine at fancy restaurants. Foundations officials became suspicious after an audit found that the cost of janitorial supplies had increased dramatically.
