Two men are accused of robbing customers at two separate Bucks County Wawa Stores.
28-year-old John Moore of County Line Road in Line Lexington and 30-year-old Jeremy Umstead of Stacy Drive in Doylestown are charged with robbery, assault and other offenses. The robberies occurred Sunday morning outside a Wawa in Richland Township and another one at Routes 113 and 313 in Hilltown. In the Hilltown incident, police say a 21-year-old Quakertown man was leaving the store after making a purchase when Moore and Umstead approached him, asked for directions and pulled a knife. The victim fought them off and disarmed them, but only after receiving several knife cuts on his hand. He drove home afterward and reported the attack to Quakertown Police, who notified Hilltown Police. About a half-hour after the Hilltown robbery, State Police from Skippack investigated a hit-and-run incident and took Moore and Umstead into custody. Troopers found items in their possession that were taken in the earlier robbery in Richland Township.
