A former North Penn High School teacher is going to prison for having sex with a boy who was in her eleventh grade homeroom and having inappropriate contact with another.
37-year-old Heather Lynne Zeo has been given one to 23 months in Montgomery County Prison, and she must also pay $1,000 in fines. She starts serving her sentence on September 27. She pleaded guilty to corrupting minors earlier this year. Both boys were 17 years old when the incidents occurred, a little over a year ago. Court documents say one boy told detectives he kissed and petted with her six or seven times in her classroom when no one else was around, and they had sex one time in the back seat of her minivan in a Montgomery Township shopping center parking lot. Zeo was suspended at the time of her arrest, and she is permanently barred from teaching in Pennsylvania. At her sentencing Thursday she apologized to the victims, their families, her family, her friends and her church members. The mother of the boy she had sex with told the judge the encounter changed her son’s life forever. She said other students have ridiculed him, and he has become angry and depressed. Zeo lives in Warrington with her husband and three children.
