Jailed Man Pleads Not Guilty To New Molestation Charges
A former substitute teaching aide at a Collegeville elementary school, awaiting sentencing for inappropriately touching three young boys repeatedly, has pleaded not guilty to additional charges.
46-year-old Vito Granieri (pictured here) of Chelsea Way in Skippack is charged with indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children and other offenses. He entered an Alford Plea, which amounts to an admission of guilt, on the earlier charges. Now two more boys have come forward and told police Granieri touched them inappropriately many times between 2007 and 2008, when they were between nine and eleven years old. Court documents say the touching incidents occurred in the computer lab or lunchroom at Saint Eleanor Parish School in Collegeville. The boys said he would touch them in their private areas as he put candy in their pockets. Granieri worked as a computer lab assistant and also helped out with the lunch program. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia says he has been fired, and he is being held without bail at Montgomery County Prison as he awaits sentencing on the earlier charges and trial on the new charges.
