A Lansdale woman has admitted pulling from a parking lot while driving drunk, crossing the center line, and colliding with a motorcycle in early May on Route 202 in Chalfont.
31-year-old Deborah Kiesel of Poplar Street pleaded guilty to DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle and other offenses Wednesday in Bucks County Court. The motorcyclist, Robert Dando of Chalfont, remains hospitalized with serious leg injuries. Kiesel allegedly drove away after the crash, but a motorist called 911 and followed her, telling police where she was going. They found her minivan in the parking lot at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church on Upper State Road in Montgomery Township. She was walking at the time, and she gave a phony name and said she had not been driving. Court documents show that she pleaded guilty to another DUI on April 21, less than two weeks before the latest offense, which is her fourth. She had one in 2001 in Bucks County and another in 1999 in Montgomery County. Her lawyer says she has been battling alcoholism and mental illness for years. She is being held without bail in Bucks County Prison.
