Drowning Boy Saved
Quick action by two young boys and a volunteer firefighter saved a drowning boy’s life Sunday afternoon at a home on Thistlewood Road in Upper Moreland Township.
It happened during a party for a youth baseball team. Police say a six-year-old boy was found underwater in a backyard swimming pool, and seven-year-old Connor Gift and ten-year-old Brett Brossman pulled him out. He was not breathing and had no pulse at the time. Soon after off-duty Willow Grove Firefighter Vincent Schultz started performing CPR on the six-year-old he started breathing on his own, and he was rushed to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment.
