A clerk was shot and wounded during a robbery early Tuesday at a Montgomery County convenience store.
A customer found the 74-year-old victim lying on the floor at about 4:30 in the morning at the Turkey Hill Mini-Mart on East High Street in the Sanatoga Section of Lower Pottsgrove Township. Police say two men entered the store and demanded money orders from the clerk, and then one man went behind the counter, pulled a handgun and shot the clerk twice in the leg. The two men fled on foot with money orders and merchandise. The victim was flown to a hospital for treatment of wounds that were described as serious, but not life-threatening. The robbers are described as two black men in their early 20’s, one with light skin and one with dark skin.
