Theft Charges Filed Against Bucks Senior Center Director
The director of the Upper Bucks Senior Center has been charged with stealing thousands of dollars from the facility. 60-year-old Rose O'Brien had been credited with keeping the center going after it was burned out of its Quakertown location six years ago. Most recently its been operating out of the Milford Township Fire Company social hall. O'Brien is charged with taking more than $22,000 from the center by wriitng 26 checks on its bank account.
Montco Courthouse Book Keeper Charged With Theft
A book keeper in the Law Library at the Montgomery County Courthouse has been charged with theft. Investigators allege 56-year-old Barbara Melnyk of Norristown stole about $2,600 from taxpayers and used the money to buy college textbooks for her daughter. Law enforcement officials also say another $27,000 is missing and more arrests could be in the work.
