Lansdale officials at their business meeting on January 16th will consider a five year contract with a new power supplier.   The borough buys electricity in bulk for resale to its residents and the proposed agreement with a division of Florida Power & Light would stabilize rates over the long run.   It could also put some upward pressure on what consumers in Lansdale pay for electricity but that isn't certain at this point since the contract cost of power won't be nailed down until four hours before the start of the council meeting.

The Lower State Road Bridge in Doylestown Township reopened Friday afternoon after being closed for repairs since last January.   PennDOT closed it because of structural problems forcing about 13,000 motorists a day to use alternate routes.   That in turn caused congestion on other roads.

The Montgomery County Health Department has declared a Code Blue alert through 6:00pm Monday, December 31.
