More than 100 Bedminster Township residents turned out Monday night for a meeting on The Piper Group’s plans to build more than 200 homes at two sites.

The larger one is 350 acres near Route 413 and Old Easton Road in Pipersville. The developer has proposed 159 homes there and another 49 on a 60-acre site off Bucks Road in the southwestern corner of the township.

The Pipersville homes would require a new sewage treatment plant along Route 611 near the Cactus Grill Restaurant, and the developer would build a 20-acre park along Route 413.

Residents who attended the meeting opposed the Pipersville development, saying it would increase traffic and spoil their quality of life.
