Sergeants Ronald Feliciano of Warminster and Titus Thompson of Philadelphia say they were overlooked for a promotion to lieutenant because of pervasive racial discrimination at the prison in Doylestown Township.
The position went to a white man, but county officials deny the allegations.
Feliciano and Thompson are asking the courts to award them damages for lost wages and benefits and mental pain and suffering. Their complaint says eleven of the twelve supervisors at the county prison are white.
