NPUW Dedicates New Headquarters
The North Penn United Way dedicated its new headquarters in Kulpsville Tuesday. It’s on the second floor of the Univest Bank Building at Forty Foot Road and Sumneytown Pike, and Univest President and CEO Bill Aichele says the United Way and his company share the same core values.
“Univest has five core values. The most important one is the community core value, and by that our employees provide leadership, financial support and volunteerism to the community. That is very similar to the mission of the North Penn United Way. They continue to provide and strengthen our community.”
United Way Director of Community Input Linda Abram says one of the top three community impact goals is helping senior citizens to be engaged.
“Often seniors can become isolated. They’re not connected with their families, who may not live locally. They’re not connected with any community group, and it makes them more valuable as they live their lives to feel that community connection. We know how important that is for all of us, but especially our older adults.”
Abram says the United Way also wants to help all children succeed in school, and that includes kindergarten readiness and third-grade reading proficiency, as well as a lot of other things. She and Aichele appeared Tuesday on the WNPV talk program Comment Please by Univest, which was broadcast live from the North Penn United Way Headquarters.
