New NPUW Model Is Working
“We had this need. We had need “x.” Because of your generosity mister donor, because of the efforts of all of these volunteers, we’ve eliminated need “x.” The Community Impact Model is aimed at being able to do exactly that, to be able to come back to those donors and say, ‘Look at the results we’ve been able to generate through the help of your generosity.’”
Dooley says they have to be able to tell donors they are using their dollars in the best possible way. Executive Director Sarah Whetstone says they must also answer several important questions.
“What can we do together more efficiently, more effectively? What are the low-cost, no-cost things that we can do to help people be more financially stable, to help better the food distribution system, to help folks in crisis, to help kids get the education that they need, to help older adults remain independent? Those are things that we need to do together as systems versus just individual places.”
Whetstone says raising money is important, but so is getting business, nonprofits, government and the faith community working together. She and Dooley appeared Tuesday on the WNPV talk program Comment Please by Univest.
