Lansdale Performing Arts Center Update

Lansdale officials Wednesday night established the 311 West Main Street Task Force.   That's the advisory committee assigned to provide borough council with input on what to do with the former Performing Arts Center.   Earlier this month a consultant recommended converting it into a community center at a cost of almost $4,000,000.   Borough Council President Matt West says the task force will look at that proposal but other options will be on the table too.   The task force will have 11 members.   One of them will be Borough Manager Timi Kirchner while three will be members of borough council.   The remaining seven will be residents of the North Penn School District or members of the arts and entertainment community.   Those wishing to volunteer for the task force should send brief letters of application to Council President West at Borough Hall and explain their interest.   The deadline is Friday, September 2nd.
