Demolition of the Lansdale Motor Lodge in Towamencin Township starts Monday, August 22.
It opened in 1962 next to the Lansdale Interchange on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and went out of business earlier this month. The demolition of the 49-year-old motor lodge should take about two weeks. Construction could start within a few weeks on a new $18 million Marriott Courtyard Hotel at the same site. It will have 125 rooms and ten suites, and it should open late next year.
