Lansdale officials say they are pleased with the progress so far on the preliminary stages of the downtown Streetscape Improvement Project.
The Madison Parking lot (pictured here) is dug up in spots, utility lines are being buried underground, and Borough Public Works Director Jake Ziegler says Madison Street will be more than a parking lot entrance when the job is done. He says it will have curbs and sidewalks and will extend to Richardson Avenue. Main and Broad Streets will get new curbs and sidewalks and other amenities including benches, bike racks and better lighting. He also says it will have an impact on the Under the Lights Car Show in June, and they will do what they can to accommodate each other. State and federal grants are paying for most of the $3.2 million cost.
