Lansdale Borough Council has honored former Fairmount Fire Company Chief Jay Daveler (pictured here). He retired recently after more than 50 years of service, including more than 40 years as chief.  He says retiring from one job won’t slow him down much because he’s still fire marshal and a businessman, and his classic cars and other hobbies will also keep him busy.  Another veteran firefighter, Joe Stockert, succeeds him as fire chief.
