J And J Facing New Problems

medical-symbolFederal regulators are taking a close look at a second Johnson and Johnson Plant in Pennsylvania. The Fort Washington plant where its McNeil Consumer Healthcare division made Children’s Tylenol and other products was closed earlier this year after the Food and Drug Administration found contaminants in raw ingredients.  300 of the 400 employees at the site are being laid off, and it will probably stay closed until at least the middle of next year.  Now the FDA has found problems at a Lancaster plant J and J operates jointly with Merck.  It produces the heartburn drugs Mylanta and Pepcid.  The company says it is addressing the FDA’s concerns as quickly as possible.
