Plans for a mixed-use commercial and residential development at the site of the old Souderton Area High School are stalled, largely because the developer cannot get a commitment from a large anchor store. Metro Development reached an $11 million agreement of sale with the school district about two years ago, but then the economy turned sour.  The plans call for a village-style development to be known as Souder Hill Towne Center, much like Valley Square in Warrington, on 44 acres near Township Line Road and Route 113 in Souderton and Hilltown.
