Construction Forces Diner Closing

bridgeThe owners of the Clubhouse Too Diner in Upper Gwynedd say they are closing for a few months because business has been way down since Phase Two of the Sumneytown Pike Widening Project started. Crews are working on a freight railroad bridge next to the diner (pictured here), as well as the road, widening the underpass from two lanes to four.  Township Solicitor Bob Kerns says it’s a shame that one of his favorite restaurants has to close, but progress has its price.

”unfortunately, when you want public improvements some of these things happen.”

He says the owners plan a grand re-opening when construction is finished late this year.
