The centerpiece of Grand View Hospital’s 100th Anniversary is being planned for October. It’s a Centennial Gala in Sellersville. Dave Alderfer is Grand View’s Director of Development.

Grand View is in the midst of a year long observation of its 100th Anniversary.

Looking to safely dispose of documents and old bills and other sensitive materials. The Montgomery County Commissioners, with the assistance of The Waste Authority of Montgomery County will hold a shredding event this Saturday, June 8th. It’s happening at the green parking area at Montgomery County Community college from 9am until noon. The shredding event is for residents only. Businesses are not permitted to take part in the event. Shred One Security Corporation will carry out the shredding procedures. The shredded paper will be used in recycling, which save over 70-thousand trees.

The Souderton based financial institution, Univest, held its 7th annual economic summit in Montgomeryville. Economist Luke Tilly from the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank says, most economic indicators are pointing up.

“What we’re seeing from consumers is that they’re building equity in their homes. They’ve de-leveraged some of their debt and they’re starting to spend more money.”

Tilly says, the regional economy is doing even better than the national economy. The 7th Annual Economic Summit was held Thursday.  

Looking for a meal or to purchase of a six-pack of beer before or after you’ve finished your food shopping? The Giant Supermarket on Knapp Road in Montgomery Township will provide that convenience to customers after getting approval from the Township’s Supervisors. The license, which once belonged to a Chinese restaurant has been transferred over to supermarket chain. The supermarket will set up a restaurant and be permitted to sell beer. The new restaurant will be separate from the supermarket.
