State Rep Trying To Help Residents Of THP Development

Montgomery County State Representative Matt Bradford says he is working with people who have moved into Biltmore Estates, an unfinished development in Skippack. It is one of several projects Harleysville homebuilder THP halted last month, days before the company filed for bankruptcy.  He is helping them form a town watch and trying to get more frequent state police patrols.  He says he is also talking to people at THP, and he hopes they can work out a solution to their problems.

“While it was a very ambitious project, and clearly they got over-extended in a bad economy, these are developments that make a lot of sense.  The market two years ago, obviously, would have sustained them.  Folks bought into this suburban dream, and they really got in a nightmare.”

Bradford says he is still waiting for an answer to the question of whether the company can find financing and finish the homes.  He appeared Friday on the WNPV talk program “Comment Please by Univest.”
