Whitpain Dog Park Study Underway

A Whitpain Township Parks and Recreation Board subcommittee is looking into the feasibility of having a dog park, where canines can run off-leash in a fenced-in area. A number of other townships already have them, and typically they have separate areas for large and small dogs.

The subcommittee is doing a study, and it wants to hear from both supporters and opponents of a dog park, which would go in one of the existing parks.  Private fundraising would pay for fencing and other amenities.  The subcommittee should report back to the parks board in a month or two, and it should present a report to the township supervisors in the fall.
