A Pennsylvania Superior Court judge has overturned a woman’s conviction for trying to trade sex for Phillies World Series tickets in the fall of 2009.
A Bucks County jury found 45-year-old Susan Finkelstein of Philadelphia not guilty of prostitution but guilty of attempted prostitution in March of last year. A Bensalem police officer said he responded to an October ad on the Craigslist website that said, “Gorgeous tall buxom blonde in desperate need of two World Series tickets -- price negotiable.” Another officer who met her at Manny Brown’s Bar and Grill in the Neshaminy Mall said she offered to have sex with him and his brother in return for tickets. The Superior Court judge says she was not engaged in prostitution because her behavior did not exceed the limits of private sexual relations. Or as her lawyer said at one time, “It’s not illegal to be a slut.”
