Parx Takes Steps To Curb Kids In Car Problem
Officials from the Parx Casino in Bucks County say they have stepped up parking lot patrols in an effort to curb the problem of children being left alone in cars while their parents are inside gambling. In an appearance Thursday before the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board in Harrisburg, the officials said they have added a second security patrol 24 hours a day, and a third patrol during peak weekend periods. They also said they have nearly doubled the number of parking lot surveillance cameras. They said only three kids-in-car incidents have happened this year compared to nine last year, but some gaming board members said additional measures may be needed at the casino on Street Road in Bensalem.
