Lansdale Selling Ballfield Ads

Weaver_FieldLocal officials plan to help pay for Parks and Recreation Department programs by selling banner advertising at Weaver Field in Memorial Park.

Borough Councilwoman Mary Fuller says it’s the right idea at the right time.

“I think that’s it’s the flavor of the ballpark to look in the outfield and see advertising.  Why it’s taken so long I don’t know, but a local businessman approached me about it and I thought it sounded like a great idea.  Why shouldn’t we generate some funds for the Parks and Rec Department?”

She says placing a 3-by-6-foot banner costs $250 a year with a two-year commitment, so a business would invest $500 and also pay for having the banner made.  The Lansdale Little League has had outfield advertising for years.
