Bowling Alley Coming To Lansdale

bowlingMayor Andy Szekely says he thinks it’s wonderful that investors have signed a lease for the former Super Fresh building in the Hillcrest Shopping Center on East Main Street, next to the North Penn YMCA. They plan to build a bowling alley with a restaurant and bar, and he says it will impress people entering the borough.

“You’re going to have your gateway to Lansdale with amenities for families.  You’ll have the YMCA with the pool and their services, and then you’ll have bowling and a restaurant within walking distance.”

He says the gateway is getting a major improvement.

“That’s the gateway to Lansdale from the east end, so you have that for all of your out-of-towners who are coming in and seeing all of this activity in Lansdale.”

Mayor Szekely says the YMCA is starting a capital campaign for more improvements, and the upgraded “Y” and the bowling alley will work together to benefit all of the businesses at the Hillcrest Shopping Center.  The bowling alley, with a working name of King Pinz Family Entertainment Center, could open as soon as this fall.
