NP YMCA Has Military-Style Fitness Boot Camps
North Penn YMCA Chief Operating Officer Betty Linko says their Fitness Boot Camps are perfect for people who want to work out before work.
She says they involve lots of sit-ups, pushups, running and jumping.“It can be a great way, like a military-style boot camp, to get you in shape. We guarantee a lot of fun and a lot of personal one-on-one. Anyone, regardless of your ability or age, can participate in our family fun boot camp.”
The Fitness Boot Camps are held Monday and Wednesday at Lansdale and Tuesday and Thursday at the Indian Valley Branch in Harleysville, and they start at 5:30am. She says another very popular exercise class is Zoomba, an easy dance program set to Latin music.
“Have fun, shake a little bit, and burn off those calories and be fit through dance. It’s a really neat program.”
Linko says even people who don’t know how to dance can do the Zoomba, and they have about a dozen classes at the various North Penn YMCA branches with up to 50 people per class. She appeared Monday on the WNPV talk program Indian Valley Live.
