Tension Brewing in Hatfield Township Commissioners Race
The race for Commissioner in Hatfield Township is heating up. Republican incumbent, Tom Zipfel, is looking for another term.
“The next couple of years in particular we’re going to refocus our attention to our roadways again. We have just not had the financial ability to put as much money toward our roadways as would have liked to.”
Zipfel has been the president of the Commissioners for the last three years. He says, the Commissioners have been getting along much better compared to the past, but there is unrest stirring. Mark Baskin is running for Commissioner in the 4th ward.
“How can the Township ask us, as residents, when we do upgrades on our house, to abide by the code, and they don’t abide by the code. This creates a double standard.”
Baskin, a PennDot consultant, is running on the Democratic ticket. Baskin and Zipfel were guests on AM Edition Friday morning with Darryl Berger.
