PPL Challenge Continuing In Bucks Co
The Springfield Township Supervisors have voted to continue their legal battle against PPL’s plans to run high-voltage power lines through woods and wetlands in their Upper Bucks County community. Commonwealth Court ruled earlier this month that the project could move forward, and they want to appeal to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The Allentown-based utility company says it needs the new lines to strengthen the aging electric grid that stretches through 29 Pennsylvania counties. Springfield Township officials say the power lines would damage not only woods and wetlands, but also wildlife habitat and the Tohickon Creek Watershed.
