Couple Face Trial on Prescription Fraud and Other Charges
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s office says a couple cooked up a scheme to obtain massive quantities of the prescription drug Adderall through the use of the identities and health insurance of two people. Court records show that the couple, from Chalfont, 42-year-old Melanie Keyser and Eric Harrell, 39-years-old, worked together in getting the Adderall with the intent to sell the prescription medication. In early may, an official with a pharmacy on North Wales Road called police in connection with the caper, after discovering that prescriptions called in were fake. The investigation found that Keyser and Harrell accumulated 5-thousand Adderall at pharmacies in Montgomery and Bucks counties. Police theorize the couple carried out the scheme from January until May. Keyser and Harrell appeared at a hearing yesterday. The couple will be arraigned on September 25th.
