Woman Gets Prison Time For Stealing From Employer
A Montgomery County woman who admitted stealing from her employer has been given state prison time.
48-year-old Megan Galo of Abington pleaded guilty to felony theft by deception for stealing from the Center for Advanced Orthopaedics on Germantown Pike in East Norriton, where she was office manager.
She and the center disagree on the amount taken, but a doctor at the practice told police she took more than $100,000 between January and June of last year by keeping money she should have deposited in the business bank account.
Assistant District Attorney Erik Crocker says she was trusted, and business owners should check the books themselves every now and then.
