Montco Man Accused In MO Molestation Case
A Montgomery County man is accused of molesting a young girl early Sunday morning in a Missouri hotel room. Police say 42-year-old Daniel Hughes of West Conshohocken got drunk while on a business trip, returned to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in the Saint Louis suburb of Clayton, told the desk clerk his key did not work, and got a new one. When he entered the wrong room he got into bed with a nine-year-old girl, who alerted her parents in the next room. They chased him to the lobby, where hotel security stopped him and held him for police who arrested him. He was dressed only in his underwear. He is charged with child molestation and other offenses. The hotel issued a statement saying employees are cooperating fully with police, and the desk clerk who gave Hughes the wrong key has resigned.
