Charges Upgraded For Alleged Road Rage Shooter
Criminal charges against a Norristown man accused in a road rage shooting have been upgraded. 32-year-old Christopher Garrett was charged with aggravated assault shortly after the August 30 incident, and now he is charged with attempted murder and related offenses. Witnesses told police the victim, a 42-year-old East Norriton man, was headed north on Markley Street in Norristown when Garrett pulled his Chrysler Sebring up next to the other man. The men exchanged words, and then got out and started fighting. They say Garrett shot the victim once in the chest, got back into his car, and drove away. Police found a loaded nine millimeter handgun in his car at the time of his arrest. He is being held at Montgomery County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.
