Bones Found At Montco Cemetery
Testing continues on the remains of a man and a woman unearthed at an Upper Dublin cemetery. Several children found more than 50 bones, including two skulls, on Sunday at the Fairview Cemetery on Twining Road next to the Twining Valley Golf Club. Montgomery County Coroner Walter Hofman says the man and woman probably died more than 50 years ago because an American Flag with 48 stars was found nearby, suggesting that they died before Alaska and Hawaii became states in 1959. Fairview was established in 1904 as a cemetery for black people, and a number of deceased church leaders and government employees are buried there. Authorities say excavation equipment may have accidentally unearthed the bones.
