A Lansdale man
is accused of growing marijuana in the basement of his East Second Street home.
49-year-old George Duval is charged with
manufacturing and possessing drugs.
Detective Mike Trail Says Duval was using a “grow fridge,” which is a
hollowed out refrigerator outfitted with a thermostat, fans, water pumps and
high intensity lights, all hooked up to a timer. Lansdale police entered his unlocked home on
Monday to assist Montgomery
County sheriff’s deputies
in serving a warrant for his arrest and, while looking for him, they came
across marijuana plants. He was not home
at the time. When detectives got a
search warrant and returned, they found 29 plants ranging in size from small
ones in plastic cups to large ones in gallon jugs, two handguns and two long
guns. Duval surrendered to police on
Wednesday.
