A Former
Souderton Area
School District employee
who admitted possessing child pornography has been given one day in prison,
followed by ten years of probation.
Salvatore Graci of Wallingford
in Delaware County
pleaded guilty earlier this year in federal court in Philadelphia.
He worked as an instructional technology support specialist in the
district from 2003 until 2007. Prior to
that he worked as a teacher at Catholic elementary schools in Wynnewood, Merion
Station and Drexel Hill. Investigators found more than 600 child
pornography images on his computer and an external hard drive, but defense
attorney Charles Peruto Junior argued successfully for the light sentence,
saying a psychological evaluation found that Graci was not a pedophile, and he
was a devout Catholic and a lonely, sexually naïve 34-year-old virgin who found
the child pornography while searching the internet for a female adult virgin.
