Nurse Theft Case Moves Toward Trial

A nurse accused of stealing more than $22,000 from a Doylestown Township Altzheimer’s Disease patient has been ordered to stand trial in Bucks County Court. Magisterial District Judge Philip Daly ruled that the prosecution has enough evidence to try 46-year-old Donna Hammerstone for felony theft by deception and other offenses. Authorities say the Bedminster woman used the man’s credit cards and checking account without his permission to buy a heating system for her home, fine china, jewelry, computers, a trip to an Atlantic City casino and more.
